To fully understand the development of Druze history and theology it is essential to examine the facts in the context of the wider geographical as well as political theaters to include all countries where Druze communities struggled for survival under the accepted practice of Taqiyya. Knowledge of the Druze community has been confined to the recent history of Middle East as well as to the history of a few prominent families. This limited vision of the Druze has been expanded to include all countries where Druze communities struggled for survival under the accepted practice of Taqiyya (The disguise as members of the dominant religions in order to avoid persecution). While the dynamics of Taqiyya helped the religion survive, it also helped concentrate religious, economic and political power in the hands of a few elites. As time passed, these powerful elites carried the Druze teachings, culture and people to settle in several principalities on the Mediterranean shores. However, the vast area beyond the Arab world was somehow ignored by the Arab Druze power centers. The book provides sources for further research leading to a more comprehensive and deeper understanding of the development of Druze history and theosophy in a much wider geographical theater. It will also help discover and bring together several million Druze in present-day Druze communities all over the Globe. The book contains 540 pages listing over 5000 references, and including a very important, 52 page, chronology of history from 106 A. D. to 1919 A.D. The introduction to this Druze bibliography contains a synopsis of comparative religion as well as Dr. Muakasa’s contention that the Druze religion has its roots in India and Persia as well as in the Middle East. The bibliography includes references in English, Arabic, Persian, Urdu and other languages. sacred-texts.com: Etext Bibliography This is a comprehensive bibliography of all complete books scanned at or for the Internet Sacred Text Archive.
